Type I: SFT-BarConnector

GFRP Connector – Thread bar

A high impact, alkali-resistant polymer collar is injection molded to the connector at the center portion & produces a holding and sealing section at the insulation layer.

Accelerated-aging tests show that the connector material is resistant to alkali attack for over 100 years

Type II: SFT-FlatConnector

GFRP Connector – Flat bar

A high impact, alkali-resistant polymer collar is injection molded to the connector at the center portion & produces a holding and sealing section at the insulation layer.

Accelerated-aging tests show that the connector material is resistant to alkali attack for over 100 years

Non-conductive, non-corrosive, fiber-composite connectors are formed from a fiber composite comprising 78 percent glass and 22 percent vinyl ester polymer by weight evaluated per ASTM D3172.
Tension tests per ASTM D3039 show that the connector material has a tensile strength of 59kN, and a coefficient of thermal expansion of 5×10-6in/in/°F or 1×10-5mm/mm/°C, nominal.
